MECCA, August 16, 2012 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday called on Islamic world leaders to support the Palestinian multisectoral strategy concerning Jerusalem which was adopted in the thirty eighth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers.

Abbas said in his speech at the forth Extraordinary Session of Islamic Summit Conference held in Mecca that the Palestinian people and leadership are counting on Islamic world’s support to end the Israeli occupation.

He called on Islamic countries to support the Palestinian bid to seek full membership at the United Nations, find a solution for the refugees issue and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Abbas affirmed that the Palestinian reconciliation can’t be complete without elections.
