RAMALLAH, July 22, 2012 (WAFA) – Al-Quds daily Sunday highlighted Jewish settlers building a settlement outpost on Palestinian private land in the town of al-Khader, west of Bethlehem under intensive Israeli army protection.
The daily printed a photo of Jewish settlers roaming the street of the Old City of Hebron under the protection of Israeli soldiers.
Al-Ayyam dedicated most of its front page to report on violent outbreaks in Syria, including clashes in Halab and shelling in Damascus, which left 130 dead on Saturday.
The newspaper featured reports of thousands of Syrian refugees arriving in Lebanon while a rising number of soldiers are defecting from the army.
More on Syria, the main front page focus of al-Hayat al-Jadida was a report by the Daily Telegraph indicating that US Central Intelligence Agency CIA is racing to find Syria’s chemical and biological weapons.
Al-Quds reported on Palestinian activists organizing a demonstration in front of al-Ramli prison’s clinic to support hunger-striking prisoners and save the life of prisoner Akram Rikhawi, who has been on hunger strike for more than 100 days.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida focused on Jordan’s condemnation of previous Israeli statements claiming that al-Aqsa mosque is an integral part of Israel.
