RAMALLAH, July 1, 2012 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian dailies Sunday highlighted PLO executive committee’s calls on the Security Council to hold an urgent meeting to discuss escalation in illegal settlement activities.
PLO called on Arab countries to financially support the Palestinian authority to overcome its financial crisis.
Al-Ayyam reported that the elected Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi has been officially sworn in as Egypt’s leader.
It said that the army has officially handed power over to Mursi in a ceremony in Cairo.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida highlighted Mursi’s speech, in which he said that Egypt will support the Palestinian people until they gain their just rights and achieve the reconciliation.
Al-Ayyam reported on Palestinians protesting in Ramallah on Saturday, demanding President Mamoud Abbas to cancel any meeting between any Palestinian official figure and Israeli Vice Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz.
