RAMALLAH, June 25, 2012 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Monday received Egypt’s ambassador to the Palestinian Authority Yasser Othman and congratulated him on the election of the new Egyptian President Mahmoud Mursi.

Abbas emphasized the Palestinian leadership’s respect and commitment to the Egyptian people’s choice through the successful democratic process, and stressed the importance of Egypt’s important role in supporting Palestinian rights.

In addition, Abbas praised the role of the Egyptian judicial system and the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces of Egypt, stressing the Palestinian leadership’s determination to end the internal division by setting a date for the presidential and parliamentary elections and forming the national unity government.
