RAMALLAH, June 25, 2012 (WAFA) – Muslim brotherhood candidate Muhammad Mursi’s victory at the Egyptian presidential elections by 51.73% of the votes dominated the Monday issue of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
The three papers highlighted Mursi’s speech after his victory in which he pledged to honor all agreements Egypt had signed with other countries.
Thousands of Palestinians rallied in the streets of Gaza to celebrate Mursi’s victory as president of Egypt, said the papers.
The three dailies printed photos of Mursi and celebrations in Tahrir Square following the announcement.
Al-Quds reported on Prime Minister Salam Fayyad saying that he will do everything possible to prevent the demolishing of the village of Susiya in the South Hebron Hills.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida focused on President Mahmoud Abbas’ meeting with the Vatican’s Apostolic Delegate to Jerusalem and Palestine in the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.
