RAMALLAH, June 14, 2012 (WAFA) – The Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased by 0.2% in May compared to April 2012, while if compared to May 2011 it has increased by 2.96%, a Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) report said on Thursday.
The change in CPI for May is traced back to changes in prices of the some major expenditure groups compared to the previous month such as food and soft drinks, which fell by 0.53%, price of miscellaneous goods dropped by 0.43% and medical care prices fell by 0.33%.
CPI decreased in the Gaza Strip by 0.91% and increased in Jerusalem by 0.07% and in the West Bank by 0.18%.
