NABLUS, April 26, 2012 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers Thursday blocked the road which links the West Bank town of Hawara, south of Nablus, to Tulkarm and Qalqilia and which passes by the Jewish settlement of Yitzhar, as they celebrated the 64th anniversary of the creation of Israel according to the Hebrew calendar, said a local activist.
Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of settlements file at the Palestinian Authority in the northern part of the West Bank, said settlers closed the road and prevented Palestinian vehicles from passing through, causing severe traffic jam.
The army, which was present in the area, did not interfere to stop the settlers.
